Prof. Werner Zechner

Prof. Werner Zechner is an associate professor and Co-Head of the Department for Oral Surgery and Implantology at the University Dental Clinic of the Medical University of Vienna. He is also an active board member and former President of the Austrian Society for Implantology (OGI), Scientific Advisory Board Member of the European Society for Ceramic Implantology (ESCI), and the Austrian Dental Association (OEGZMK). He has been honored with the title of Honoree Professor of the Medical University in 2014.

Prof. Zechner has over 24 years of experience in academic teaching and research, as well as a private implant practice in Vienna. He is the Head of the university scientific consortium “Integration of Digital Dentistry”, which focuses on developing and applying innovative digital technologies for oral surgery and implantology. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on various topics related to bone regeneration, digital dentistry, and ceramic implants.

He has also received 10 national and international awards for his scientific excellence and contributions to the field. Prof. Zechner is an active member of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) and a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and courses. He is passionate about advancing the knowledge and practice of oral surgery and implantology and sharing his expertise with students and colleagues.
